Tokyo - HiroShima
Today was our second day in Japan and we woke up at 4:30 in the morning. We had to get up really early to see the world famous fish market.. all the fish we saw here are shipped out all over the world.. so the fish you're probably eating right now is from Japan! So right when we got there, there were a ton of little scooter barrel looking truck things that if you weren't watching out, they would run you over! It was pretty scary!! While we were walking around we saw these little old Japanese men running around with carts and had HUGE pieces of tuna! After the fish market, we had to catch the train to our next place which was Hiroshima. As we went through the station there were again tons of people moving to catch their trains. It was literally like LA traffic times 5 and if you had to get to the other side you had to look before you went because you didn't want to cut anyone off. Our train ride was about 4 hours so we caught up on some much needed sleep. When we had a break between trains we decided it was the perfect time to eat some ramen! The ramen was really good as you can later tell by victor's picture! After catching our final train we finally made it into Hiroshima.. and went to the Grand Prince Hotel to spend 3 nights there. The next morning we went to Miyagima, which is a island that is full of deers. Over there they are famous for their maple leave desserts that are filled with all different kinds of stuff (cheese, chocolate, red beans, etc.) After walking for a while we were starving and found a place where they served oysters. Hiroshima is very famous for their oysters. Victor had grilled and fresh oysters that were brought in right from the ocean. After visiting Miyagima, which was a very long and tiring day we went back to the hotel to get a Japanese massage.. and oh boy did they hurt me! Those little Japanese ladies are very strong.. stronger than what we expected! Our next day in Hiroshima, we went shopping and then saw this local artist in the Peace Memorial Park. He combined dancing and painting and he did some pretty crazy work. After visiting Hiroshima, we were hungry once again and decided to get some more local food... HORSE MEAT! Victor tried his very first piece and it turned out to be one of the things he would only try ONCE! haha... For our other meal of the day we got a Hiroshima pancake like meal.. it was filled with everything from noddles to squid.. it was one of Victor's favorite things of the day! Our days in Japan have been going really good, we have had a mix of culture, food, and friendly people.. we will update you when we get to our next stop! Kojima!!
